Schedule of Visits

During your six-to-eight week visit, your healthcare team’s goal is to exchange information and identify existing risk factors that may affect your pregnancy. For your 10-to-12 week visit, the provider determines your current health status and works toward a healthy pregnancy. Your healthcare team is working toward a comfortable and safe pregnancy for you at the 16-to-20 week visit.

On your 24-week visit, your healthcare team strives to prevent preterm labor, so you can have a safe delivery and healthy baby. During your 28-week visit, your provider monitors your baby and your progress, and you learn to count fetal movements. You begin preparations for your hospital experience at your 36-week visit. The team helps you prepare for birth and your baby’s arrival at home on the 38-to-41-week visit.

During the post-delivery visit, at six-to-eight weeks after delivery, the healthcare team determines your health status and promotes your adjustment to being a mother.
